Tuli Safari Lodge is proud to have a really high percentage of repeat guests. One such couple, Elizabeth and Michael from Germany, visited recently and experienced a really special day when nature was really rolling and revealing itself.
On our morning drive, just after our tea stop, on approaching one of our waterholes we saw a cloud of dust. This could only be elephants! We were rewarded with a great sighting of a breeding herd drinking and bathing in the water and having a dust bath.
Heading back to the lodge for brunch, just metres from our signboard, we saw four adult giraffes all looking fixedly in one direction and taking no notice of our vehicle. I told my guests that the giraffes might have spotted a predator. And as I peered through the bush I saw a female cheetah enjoying a fresh impala carcass! What a rewarding drive. Back to the lodge for brunch and siesta time.
After afternoon tea, we set off for our final drive of Elizabeth and Michael’s stay. Within half an hour we came across a male leopard patrolling and marking his territory (see video on YouTube here). He is one we see quite often, so he was calm and passed right next to the game viewer. “Unbelievable” was what they said. I said that once you set foot into Tuli Safari Lodge, there is always something that will make you want to come back again!
What a wonderful experience!
