Tuli Safari Lodge

Tuli Safari Lodge provides an idyllic base from which to explore the surrounding area, with its dramatic landscape, diverse flora & fauna and fascinating history. With an established team of friendly staff and just 8 individually designed suites, we can offer our guests a personalised, relaxed and exciting stay.

The lodge is situated in peaceful grounds under the shade of ancient Nyala berry trees, tucked between the banks of the Limpopo and imposing sandstone formations. The lodge is the second longest-established in all Botswana, and traces its origins back to 1964 when the Northern Tuli Game Reserve was created. As such it is unconventional in design and layout (please see our lodge layout map) and has a charming home-from-home feel.

All our suites have double or twin beds, en-suite bathrooms with bath and/or shower, indoor and outdoor sitting areas, air conditioning and tea/coffee making facilities.

We have two grades of suites – which we call 4 and 5 “ele” - with our “5 ele” suites being the more luxurious, spacious and private. The 5 ele suites are all slightly different in size, layout and position in the lodge but all provide the same quality and facilities. Please refer to our lodge layout map which shows the position and relative size of our rooms, or please contact us if you would like to know the specific details of each suite.

Wholesome meals are served in a variety of locations throughout the lodge’s extensive grounds.

When you’re not out in the bush, eating or sleeping, there’s plenty to do within the lodge:

  • enjoy a refreshing dip in the large swimming pool, which has a small shallow section for children, beautifully positioned by a secluded rocky outcrop
  • spot the wildlife visiting the pretty waterhole at the back of the lodge from the safety and comfort of our hide
  • enjoy panoramic views of the reserve overlooking a baobab-studded plain from our ‘star deck’ atop one of the sandstone kopjes
  • sit by the banks of the Limpopo to soak up the atmosphere and spot passing wildlife
  • spend time chatting with our resident conservationist, Tanja, about our conservation and community projects or your particular areas of interest
  • tour our conservation centre with interesting displays on the area’s birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, geology, vegetation and astronomy
  • visit our curio shop for a lovely selection of crafts, books, Tuli clothing or a copy of the great Tuli Choir CD to take home as a reminder!
